How do you describe an experience that was BIG?  Bigger than me.  Bigger than I have ever known.  It all started with a simple pitch.  "Will you come to Italy with us?".  At first I thought it was just tossing out and idea.  With little ones and a crazy schedule it seemed impossible to make this very BIG idea come to fruition and so I just shrugged it off and chuckled a bit.  But Maegan and James weren't fooling.  They were serious and as soon as I realized just how serious they were, I knew I needed to find a way to make it happen.  Because it was going to be BIG. Maegan and James were planning to get married in Kansas City (and their wedding was amazing).  The following week they were heading off on their honeymoon to Italy with a very special stop in Rome to receive a papal blessing.  Since they intended to bring their wedding clothes for the blessing they wanted to do a full shoot at the Vatican and a couple other famous spots in Rome.  And that is where the BIG idea came from.  I would tag along and third wheel their honeymoon in order to be there for this once in a lifetime shoot. The morning of our shoot came quickly and were were out the door before sunrise (poor Maegan had to get up at 3:30 to get ready).  We rushed through the very quiet streets of Rome just as the sky was turning from the dark shades of evening into the pinks and yellows of morning.  When we got the Vatican there were very few people in sight and so we immediately started shooting as we knew that with the sunrise would come the hoards of people.  After the Vatican we made stops at the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum for pictures and then wandered (got lost) through the ancient cobblestone streets of Rome.  By the time we made it home we were exhausted and Maegan's poor dress had seen better, but it was perfect.  I am still overwhelmed with gratitude to Maegan and James for trusting me to tag along and capture something so BIG.  Enjoy!
