We often see picture perfect wedding days and think how happy that couple must be. I feel that often the journey to get to that "big day" can be overlooked in the excitement over it finally happening. Brittany and Dewayne skipped most of the traditional wedding day stuff. Brittany knew she wanted her father to walk her down the aisle. So he did. She knew she wanted a special memorial candle lit at the ceremony. So it was. And her day was perfect. You might call Brittany and Dewayne's Liberty Memorial wedding ceremony an elopement. But after hearing Brittany tell me the story of how they got to that day, I am in forever awe of the commitment and devotion that these two have for each other and for their children. Their wedding day was perfect for them and their marriage will be one for the books. Enjoy!
Read MoreIt all started with an idea for a wedding invitation. Something different. Something darker. Mary-Catherine with BP Creative group had this nagging idea that just wouldn't go away. Until one day she brought that idea up to Megan with Julian Events. Megan fell instantly in love and without hesitation a plan was hatched. Luckily for me Megan and Mary-Catherine needed someone to document their grand idea and I immediately jumped on board. As the plan for the inspiration shoot continued to evolve we decided it would be amazing to ask Jason Domingues to also come along and shoot. Our styles are completely different and I loved working alongside him to bring the vision to life. Enjoy!

Read MoreChris and Rorik met through mutual friends. They knew each other for years and hung out often but life kept moving along. And then one day something clicked. That little click changed their friendship into a love that runs deep. They have a quiet way of being together but their sweetness and charm emanate wholly. I was thrilled to be asked to photograph their Kansas City wedding especially after getting to see their moves on the dance floor at Chris' brothers wedding.

Thanks to an epic round of karaoke and an empty beer can tower these two hit it off right from the start. I can't wait to photograph their late summer wedding at Terrace on Grand. Enjoy!
